EcoScore (“the App”) helps you understand and improve the environmental impact of your daily choices. This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using the App, you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

• Account & profile: email address, display name, and optional profile photo if you choose to upload one.
• App activity & preferences: eco-related data you enter or log in the App (e.g. commute, household profile, food and transport logs), unit preferences, and notification preferences.
• Technical data: device push token (for notifications you opt into), app version, and standard diagnostic data from Apple/Google platforms when applicable.

3. How we use information

• To provide and improve EcoScore features (scores, sync, reminders).
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To send push notifications you have enabled (e.g. motivation, summaries, energy alerts).
• To comply with law and protect our users.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Where data is stored

Data is processed and stored using reputable cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) (e.g. authentication, database, file storage for profile images) and Google Firebase for push delivery (Firebase Cloud Messaging). Data may be processed in the United States and other regions where those services operate.

5. Third-party sign-in

If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, those providers process your credentials according to their own privacy policies. We receive limited profile information they share with us (such as email and name) to create or link your EcoScore account.

6. Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You may delete your account or request deletion where applicable; some data may remain in backups for a limited period as required for security and legal compliance.

7. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your choices & rights

• Adjust notification and app preferences in the App’s settings.
• Revoke push permission in your device settings.
• Contact us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, subject to applicable law.

9. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (including encryption in transit for API traffic and secure storage practices). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

11. California & other regions

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA (e.g. to know, delete, and opt out of sale — we do not sell personal information). Residents of the EEA, UK, or other regions may have rights under local law; contact us to exercise those rights.
